Description

Fried goat cheese served warm in a salad might just be the closest thing to cheese heaven. It’s a special dish, perfect for company, but so easy to whip up.

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces, weight Log Of Goat Cheese
  • ½ cups Flour
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon Water
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • Olive Oil, For Frying
  • Your Favorite Salad, To Serve

Preparation

Slice goat cheese into 1/4 inch medallions. Place flour seasoned with salt and pepper in a small bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk egg and water. Add panko bread crumbs to the last bowl.

Coat the medallions first in the flour, then egg mixture, then breadcrumbs. Heat a frying pan, with 1/4 inch of olive oil, to medium heat. Add medallions and cook until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Drain on a paper towel for a minute. Serve warm on your favorite salad.

This was yum-o. Used it with mixed greens, candied pecans, and Brianna’s brand Blush Wine Vinaigrette.

These little gems are delicious. Wonderful slight tang from the goat cheese and crispy coating make them perfect on your salad or even eaten alone…and easy, too. Yum!
