A sweet and savory entree salad: lightly browned chicken sausage with apple and maple, sweet pears, tangy feta cheese and a simple curry vinaigrette that pairs perfectly with the sweet and savory salad.

My take on a popular Asian chicken salad.

Ok…I know we are married and all….but this was freakin’ AWESOME!
I think you will have to make it for me every night of the summer of 2010. There, its settled. You are my salad slave.

Cool idea. I’d like my own salad slave. Will have to try this soon since my honey just bought a new grill he’s anxious to get going. Anything with a balsamic dressing is wonderful.

Other than the fact that that photo is gorgeous, it looks great! I love romaine lettuce, and I’ve never thought of grilling it. Once it gets warmer outside and my dad’s using the grill, I’ll definitely try this out. Thanks for this, looks delicious.

Delicious! I paired the grilled romaine with a homemade Caesar dressing and it was fantastic. Rave reviews from the whole family. Thanks for sharing it!

Everyone should try this! We’ve been grilling our romaine for about a year now…since I saw it on a Food Network show about a restaurant in British Columbia that does this for their Ceasar salad.
I usually buy the Bacon Ceaser dressing for it but have also used Blue Cheese dressing. {{I know…so not low calorie}}. I am definitely going to try your version with Feta and Balsamic.

This was really delicious! The romaine got really mellow and the combo of balsamic and feta was amazing. Thanks for a great recipe!

I just found a recipe similar to this that used strawberries, too. I chopped them up and cooked them down in the balsamic and a little bit of sugar, then topped the salad with sliced strawberries, and I used goat cheese. Fabulous!
