Description

This is my lazy version of the California roll: a Deconstructed California Bowl. All of the ingredients from a California roll (except the rice) tossed and served as a salad! Not too shabby, right? Primarily, my goal with the Deconstructed California Bowl was to simplify the process of acquiring access to the delicious flavours of a sushi meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Kikkoman Soy Sauce, Or More To Taste
  • ½ teaspoons Sesame Oil
  • ¼ teaspoons Wasabi Paste
  • 1  Cucumber, Cut Into Noodle Form (using A Veggetti Or Peeler And Knife)
  • 1  Ripe Avocado, Sliced
  • ½ cups Imitation Crab Meat, Sliced Into Bite Size Pieces
  • Sliced Seaweed Strips

Preparation

Toast sesame seeds in a pan on medium-low heat for approximately 10 minutes or until seeds are golden.

In a small bowl, whisk together Kikkoman soy sauce, sesame oil and wasabi paste. Drizzle soy sauce mixture over cucumber noodles and toss to coat.

Place in a bowl or on a plate and top with avocado slices, crab, and strips of seaweed. Drizzle with more Kikkoman soy sauce if desired.

When the sesame seeds are nicely toasted, sprinkle them over the salad.
