Description

This dinner is delicious, easy and only takes 7 basic ingredients. It’s pretty stellar.

Ingredients

  • ½ pounds Pasta
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 envelope (about 1.25 Oz. Packet) Taco Seasoning
  • 1-½ cup Southwest Salsa
  • ½ cups Water
  • 2 cups Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • ¼ cups Cream
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste

Preparation

Bring water to boil to cook the pasta. Salt it and cook pasta until al dente.

While the pasta is cooking, in a large skillet, cook ground beef, breaking it apart as you go. Once thoroughly cooked, drain meat and run under hot water to remove any fat. Wipe out the pan with a paper towel and place back on heat. Pour cooked beef into the hot pan with taco seasoning, salsa and water. Simmer until pasta is finished cooking.

Once pasta is cooked, drain well and pour into the skillet. Top with cheese, cream, salt and pepper. Stir until cheese melts and noodles are coated in sauce. Serve immediately.

I mean heavy cream.

I can’t wait to make this! I’m wondering though, do you mean 1/4 cup of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream? I’m going to try sour cream and see how it comes out.

I made this tonight and it was really good. I had everything on hand which was great! Although I was careful about the salt and used the low sodium seasoning and didn’t salt my water and I ended up adding salt because it was too bland. It was super rich but that was to be expected. Family ate it up! Thanks for a great quick go to meal!

Loved this. I didn’t have any issues with the salt level.

This was really quick and good. I added some frozen corn to the water while the pasta was cooking. I also added sliced scallion to the finished dish. I used the 40% less sodium taco seasoning packet and didn’t salt the pasta water. Worked out perfectly!

Love this! I would just tone down the taco seasoning for my own tastes. My husband loved it as-is, but it was a little salty for my taste.

Yep, I think the taco seasoning brand is key…ours came out great. This saved my starving family tonight!
