Description

A healthier, dairy-free cookie.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Overripe Banana (black)
  • 3 Tablespoons Milled Flax Seed
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla
  • ¼ cups Maple Syrup
  • ¾ cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • ½ cups Old Fashioned Oats
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ cups Light Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups Dark Chocolate Chips, Overflowing

Preparation

In a medium bowl mash banana with a fork until smooth. Stir in flax, vanilla and syrup. Set aside

In a separate bowl stir together flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar.

Combine wet and dry ingredients.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Preheat the oven to 350 AFTER mixing the dough. This gives the dough a couple of minutes to set up.

Place little mounds of dough on a cookie sheet a couple inches apart and bake for 20 minutes.

Hello Amazing! I thought this was a normal (super fatty) treat. I read the directions three times amazed that they do not call for butter or eggs! I will admit it was a bit hard for me not to add at least 2TBSP of butter lol. Also- I ran out of maple surup so I used Honey and I have to say these are totally amazing! I think I’ve used amazing too much but its because I am shocked how good they are without the egg and extreme amount of butter!

These are good. I didn’t realize that they don’t rise like normal cookies, so they turned out looking like fat octopus (since I used a scoop). But I liked them. Great way to use those last couple bananas that are close to being garbage. I chose to make these since my son typically won’t eat banana bread. Since these don’t have nuts, I have something to send him to school with.
I didn’t have enough maple syrup, so ended up using some agave syrup to make up for that.
Thank you for the recipe!
