A basic wedge salad made interesting and delicious with a super-easy-to-make homemade blue cheese dressing.
Place the cheese, mayonnaise, heavy cream, vinegar, salt and pepper in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a steel blade. Process until smooth.
Place the wedges of lettuce on a serving plate and top with tomatoes, bacon crumbles and a little purple cabbage for color. Pour enough dressing over the lettuce to moisten. Serve immediately.
