Description

Here’s a taco salad that can feed a crowd or be easily cut in half to serve at the dinner table. Because there’s lettuce in it, it should be served as soon as it is made.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Ground Beef, Browned And Drained Of Fat
  • 1 Packet Taco Seasoning
  • 1 Head Of Iceberg Lettuce, Shredded
  • 1-2 Tomatoes, Seeded And Chopped
  • 1 Onion, Chopped
  • 12 Oz. Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Sliced Black Olives (optional)
  • 12 Oz. Bag Of Doritos, Crumbled Slightly
  • 16 Oz. Bottle Kraft Catalina Dressing

Preparation

After the ground beef has been browned and drained, add the taco seasoning. DO NOT ADD ANY WATER, just the seasoning packet.

Mix and chill the ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cheese, and olives.

JUST BEFORE SERVING ADD:

Doritos that have been crumbled slightly and the Catalina dressing. Mix thoroughly and serve.

This is similar to the one my Mom always made when I was growing up. We used Frito-lay corn chips and Italian dressing. I’ve had it with Catalina and really like it. It’s also good served with sour cream and salsa.

I can’t fairly comment on this recipe as I used it as a base for a different type of taco salad. but it looks very similar to the same one my mom used to make, so I’m sure it’s amazing!
