Holidays wouldn’t be the same without a bowl of nut pudding on the table. This is one of the salads that my grandma always made for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Cook time includes time to cool in refrigerator. Soak gelatin in 1/4 cup of the milk. When dissolved, combine pudding mix, remaining milk and softened gelatin in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a full boil. Immediately remove from heat and let cool completely. Stir in Cool Whip and nuts. Pour into a glass bowl. Drain several maraschino cherries well on a paper towel. Place cherries in a circle on top of the pudding for garnish. Chill in the refrigerator.
