Delicious, refreshing salad with sugared almonds, sure to make your mouth water.
Prepare the sugared almonds by putting the almonds and sugar in a small frying pan on low heat. Stir until sugar is melted and coating the almonds. Cool.
For the dressing mix oil, sugar, vinegar, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well and refrigerate.
In a large bowl layer the lettuce (see note below), onion, oranges, bacon, and almonds. (You might have to break apart the almonds. They tend to stick together once they cool.)
Pour dressing on top, toss, and serve.
Note: I sometimes use the precut bags. It’s easy and delicious. For 8 cups of lettuce, I use two 9 oz. bags of precut lettuce.
