Description

This light and citrusy poppyseed glaze dresses up a bowl of fruit no matter the season!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Apple(unpeeled), Chopped
  • 2 cups Red Or Black Grapes
  • 1 whole Banana, Sliced
  • 2 whole Oranges, Peeled And Chopped
  • 2 whole Kiwi, Chopped
  • 1 cup Pineapple Chunks(canned Or Fresh)
  • ¼ cups Pineapple Juice
  • ¼ cups Apricot Nectar(if Unavailable, Substitute More Pineapple Juice)
  • ¼ cups Orange Juice
  • ½ Tablespoons Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • ¼ cups (scant) Granulated Sugar
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Clear Jell (I Buy This At My Local Bulk Food Store, It Is Also Available Online. Cornstarch Can Be Substituted, But I Prefer Using Clear Jel)
  • ⅛ cups Cold Water
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1-¼ teaspoon Poppy Seeds

Preparation

Place the chopped fruit into a large bowl and mix gently. Refrigerate.

To make the glaze:
Combine juices and sugar in a small saucepot over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.

In a small bowl, mix the clear jel with the water and whisk well to combine.

Slowly add the clear jel/water mixture to the boiling fruit juice, whisking constantly.

Cook for about 1 minute, or until mixture is thickened and glossy and clear.

Remove from heat, and whisk in a pinch of salt and the poppy seeds.

Allow to cool to room temperature before pouring glaze over the fruit and gently mixing to combine. Refrigerate before serving.

This was the best fruit salad I have ever had! I love the dressing that it makes. I will be making this again and adding in more different fruits. Love the dressing! I highly recommend making this. You won’t be disappointed.

This was a delicious salad! I added some mango to it as well. The citrus dressing is very tasty and also keeps the fruit from turning brown. Thanks for a yummy recipe!
