Description

I put this together after I tried to imitate a fabulous Pita I ate in Montreal from a Lebanese cafe. It was the best sandwich I had ever had. It came out very similar and everyone loves this Pita. Its so simple and so delicious!

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1 cup Hot Pepper Juice, From The Jar
  • ½ cups Hot Pepper (jarred)
  • 1 Tablespoon Steak Seasoning
  • 1 cup Hellman's Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 6 whole Pita Bread, Cut In Half. Or Buy Pre Cut
  • 6 sprigs Fresh Parsley(optional)
  • 3 whole Jalapeno Peppers, Fresh Or Few Pieces From Jar

Preparation

First, cut your chicken thinly into strips.

In a Ziploc bag, or bowl, marinade the chicken in the hot pepper juice , some hot peppers and steak seasoning. Add more juice if necessary. You can also pound the chicken before cutting.

While this marinade for about 15 mins, prepare the mayonnaise by mixing the mayonnaise with the garlic powder. Make sure you taste and add more if you like more garlic. Start with only 1 tablespoon to make sure.

On a cookie sheet, place your chicken. Cook in oven at 400 for about 10 to 20 mins, depending how thin you sliced it. Keep an eye on it. Make sure you do not let it grill. You want it to be as tender as possible.

Microwave your Pita for about a minute, just to warm them up. Spread some mayonnaise inside. Put some chicken and jalapenos peppers to taste, if you like spicy. If not, omit it!

Serve a sprig of fresh parsley per plate with your favorite salad!

Enjoy!
