Description

Everybody’s got to love a marinara recipe!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 5 cloves Garlic, Crushed And Chopped
  • 1-⅞ ounces, weight Chicken Breast, Cut In Strips (optional)
  • 4 pieces Shrimp, Peeled, Deveined And Sliced (optional But Preferred)
  • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Parsley, Chopped
  • 20 leaves Fresh Basil (or More If Desired), Washed
  • ½ Tablespoons Fish Sauce (more If Preferred)
  • 1 can (425g Size) Whole Tomatoes, Crushed By Hands
  • 2 dashes Salt
  • 2 dashes Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Cheese, Grated (any Quick-melt Will Do)

Preparation

Pour the olive oil into a skillet or pan and heat over medium heat. You’ll notice that the oil is lighter when you move the pan around. Also, try breaking a toothpick in two. Dip both rugged ends in the pan; when it bubbles, the oil is ready. Add and sauté the garlic when the pan is heated up.

If using chicken, add the chicken when the garlic turns golden. Stir well and crush the chicken against the pan. It’ll release more flavor into the dish.

Add the shrimp when the chicken is no longer pink. Add the parsley and basil leaves at the same time. Stir well. Season the dish with the fish sauce and cook for about 2 minutes until shrimp is no longer pink. Add the tomatoes.

Lower the heat and let the dish simmer. Leave it there for 5-7 minutes. Taste for seasoning and add more fish sauce if desired.

Add the grated cheese. It should help lighten the tangy flavor of the sauce. Stir well until the all the cheese blends with the sauce. Let it simmer over low heat for another 5-10 minutes. Finally, taste it and add salt and pepper as needed.

That’s it. Enjoy!
