Description

Big, juicy, flavorful burger with mushrooms, bacon, and cheese. So yummy for your tummy.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Chuck
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Kosher Salt
  • ½ Tablespoons Black Pepper
  • ½ Tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • ½ Tablespoons Onion Powder
  • ½ Tablespoons Cooking Oil
  • 8 ounces, weight Mushrooms, Sliced
  • 1 sprig Fresh Rosemary, Chopped
  • 8 whole Hamburger Buns, Split
  • 8 slices Swiss Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Tomatoes; Thickly Sliced
  • 1 whole Red Onion, Thinly Sliced
  • 1 head Butter Lettuce, Washed And Leaves Separated
  • 16 slices Crispy Bacon

Preparation

Preheat the grill.

1. In a large bowl mix the ground chuck, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder together well.

2. Pat out 8 equal sized patties.

3. Once the grill is hot place the patties on grill and cook for 5 to 7 minutes on each side. Once you flip the burger, put the spatula down and walk away!! Please do not, I repeat do not press the burger, do not flatten the burger, do not touch the burger! If you do these things to the burger you will have a big sizzle on the grill and a big dry burger on your plate!

4. With about a minute left, place a slice cheese over each burger and let melt.

While the burgers cooked I sauteed the mushrooms. . . Heat a fry pan over medium high heat. Once the pan is hot add in the cooking oil, mushrooms and chopped rosemary and cook for 5 minutes.

When you are ready to serve, place a burger on each bun, top with mushrooms and your favorite burger garnishes (bacon, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, condiments, etc).

I will have to keep a lookout for that kind of bun next time I’m in the store. Thanks!

@kristen02 The bun is a French Hamburger Bun I picked up at a local grocery store.

@ pairey I used 1 slice of swiss cheese per burger. Thanks!

Sounds delicious! What kind of bun is that? It looks so interesting- I’ve never seen one like it.

My whole family loves these burgers. Well the burger part, not the mushrooms on top. I did add some dehydrated mushrooms into the meat tonight and no one noticed. This was our fourth or fifth time following this recipe.

Meat was a little salty so I will cut back on the salt next time.
