Description

A successful attempt at kicking salmon up a notch with a zesty homemade Cajun seasoning.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1-½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Powder (you Can Add More If You Wish)
  • 4  Salmon Fillets Or Salmon Steaks
  • Olive Oil Or Non-stick Spray, For Your Pan

Preparation

Combine all of the seasonings in a bowl and mix well. Place the salmon fillets (or steaks) in a large seal-able freezer bag. Add the seasoning to the bag and toss to coat. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 400 F, or preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

If baking, brush an oven safe pan with some olive oil or a non-stick spray. Place the salmon into the pan and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily.

If grilling, place the salmon on the hot grill and grill for approximately 4 to 5 minutes per side; 6-8 minutes for salmon steaks. When done, the salmon should be light in color and flake easily through the thickest part.
