Description

A big flavor burger with small effort cooking.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Large Onion
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 pound Ground Sirloin, 85/15 Ground Beef
  • 4 Tablespoons Heinz 57 Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Minced Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Steak/grill Seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 ounces, weight Gorgonzola (or Blue) Cheese, Crumbled
  • 6 slices Ready-to-eat Bacon
  • 4 whole Kaiser Rolls, Split
  • 4 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper

Preparation

Melt butter in a large, heavy skillet over medium-low heat. Add onions and sprinkle brown sugar over them. Cook at low to low-medium heat until lovely, soft and browned.

Meanwhile, combine ground beef, 2 tablespoons 57 sauce, minced onion, steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Mix well, divide into 4 equal portions and form into patties.

When onions are done, remove them from the pan. Heat the same skillet to medium-high and add the burgers. Cook the burgers, flipping only once, until desired “doneness” is achieved. After you’ve flipped them, divide the onions equally between each burger and crumble gorgonzola over each.

Microwave bacon slices according to package directions.

Make sauce by combining mayonnaise, remaining 2 tablespoons 57 sauce, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper.

Smear sauce on both sides of each roll. Remove patties from the skillet and place on kaiser rolls.

Apply bacon, 2 slices per burger.

Get napkins … you’re gonna need them.
