Salad base for a side or meal.
This recipe is all according to taste, people.
I stink out my comrades at 911, and one girl, a garlic lover, will stink with me.
I use a lot more garlic and salt amd pepper according to how I am feeling.
Wash, dry and cut romaine into bite-size pieces. Grate your garlic cloves (or use a handy dandy garlic chopper; I suppose a press would work fine, too) into the romaine. Drizzle olive oil in and toss. Your hands will work best for this. You really got to work the garlic in. Keep seasoning and tasting a leaf; you will know when it is perfect!
Add salt and pepper to taste and finish with the cheese.
This is an awesome base salad that holds up well to grilled meats being piled on it, as the romaine does hold up well to heat.
Everyone we know eats this salad all the time and it is the #1 requested salad that we bring to parties. Kids love it too, which I find baffling, but I never complain!
Healthy too!
