This is a tangy slaw recipe with a hint of apple. My husband raves about it.
Thinly slice the cabbage.
Finely dice the white onion.
Peel and dice the apple.
Place the above ingredients into a large bowl and mix.
In a small bowl, add Miracle Whip, vinegar, and sugar together and then pour over the cabbage/onion/apple mixture.
Taste. Add salt or more Miracle Whip as needed.
Tip: after peeling the apple, add a little lemon juice to keep it from turning brown.

this was really good – i liked the sweetness of the apple balancing the tang of onion & vinegar (i added a bit more vinegar because i like the acidity) – next time, i might start with a little less mayo though (i found it a bit much, but my cabbage was also rather small, so the balance was probably just off)
