Description

Delicious made from scratch Sloppy Joes. These easy to make sandwiches can be made in just 15 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Lean Ground Turkey Or Beef
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Onion
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Dry Mustard
  • ¾ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoons Celery Seed
  • ⅛ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • ½ cups Ketchup
  • 3 Tablespoons Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 dashes Hot Sauce, More Or Less According To Taste
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • 5  Hamburger Buns
  • Cheese, Onion, Pickles, And Lettuce For Toppings (optional)

Preparation

In a large skillet over medium high heat brown the meat with the dry onion and the first amount of water. When the meat is cooked through add in the chili powder, mustard, salt, pepper, celery seed, garlic powder, and cornstarch. Stir the meat until it is coated in all of the spices and let it cook for another minute.

In a small mixing bowl whisk together the ketchup, honey, apple cider vinegar, hot sauce, and the second amount of water.

Pour the sauce over the ground meat and stir and heat until the meat is coated in the sauce. Cook the mixture until it is heated through.

Serve on buns alone or topped with cheese, onion, pickles, and lettuce.
