Looks Delicious! Trail Mix Chocolate Smoothie

Posted by in Looks Delicious!

Tasty Kitchen Blog: Looks Delicious! (Trail Mix Chocolate Smoothie, submitted by Tessa of Natural Comfort Kitchen)

You’re welcome.

In case you can’t wait to grab the printable recipe so you can make this for breakfast already, I figured I’d be polite and acknowledge the unspoken gratitude in your heart that’s currently being drowned out by the “chocolate, now!” sounds coming from your belly. It’s okay. I know the sound well.

This Trail Mix Chocolate Smoothie from TK member Tessa is one part healthy, two parts fun, three parts superfood, and eight parts chocolate. It’s more milkshake than smoothie, really, except sneakily healthier. And chocolate! Yes, please. All day long.

Have a great weekend, everyone! May it be filled with joy, laughter, and chocolate.

Looks Delicious! Turkey Chorizo Hatch Chili

Posted by in Looks Delicious!

Tasty Kitchen Blog: Looks Delicious! (Turkey Chorizo Hatch Chili by Climbing Grier Mountain)

Chili season is in full force, folks. It’s classic weekend football-watching food or an easy, satisfying weeknight meal. I am always excited to find a new chili recipe to try. It gives me an excuse to make chili more often! A good white chicken chili is a nice change from the more common chili con carne, and veggie chili offers a tasty, healthy alternative, too.

This Turkey Chorizo Hatch Chili from TK member Lauren is going straight into my chili lineup. It’s a hearty but healthy recipe with Mexican flavors and delicious, slightly spicy chorizo, one of my favorite ingredients. If you can’t find turkey chorizo at your store, feel free to use regular chorizo. Just make sure you are buying Mexican chorizo. Spanish chorizo has quite a different flavor. If you can’t find chorizo at all, you can always make your own! Here’s a recipe for Homemade Mexican-style Chorizo from Tasty Kitchen member Rebecca. Just use ground turkey instead of ground pork, and you’re ready to go!

Hope you enjoy this flavorful chili. If you have a clever way to change up chili or a favorite recipe, share it in the comments!

Tasty Kitchen Blog: Looks Delicious! Valentine Treats

We’re so excited about our new digs and hope you’re enjoying the new site too. Have you been wandering about and exploring? One of the things we love is our new Search feature. It’s more robust and now you can even specify ingredients to exclude, or, in our case for this post, ingredients to include. Which is handy when looking for dessert ideas for tomorrow. Looking for a chocolate recipe? Want to include all recipes with either chocolate or cocoa, just to cover all bases? Need gluten-free chocolate recipes? We’ve got you covered.

Here are a few of our favorite chocolate desserts for Valentine’s Day. Get ready for some decadence!

Looks Delicious! Warm French Onion Dip

Posted by in Looks Delicious!

Tasty Kitchen Blog: Looks Delicious! (Warm French Onion Dip, submitted by TK member Kelley Simmons of Chef Savvy)

Up the sass points of your game day spread with this Warm French Onion Dip from TK member Kelley Simmons. It’s hearty and cheesy and can be enjoyed with just one hand, perfect for distracted sports spectators. Served with garlic cheese crostini, it’s also elegant enough that the girls may just decide not to share with any knuckleheads jumping on the couch screaming at the television. I have a feeling the state of Texas may be especially loud at some point tomorrow. (I’ve been known to jump on the couch and scream at the television too, so I guess that makes me a sometime-knucklehead.)

Thanks for sharing this, Kelley! Head over to her site, Chef Savvy, for more chef-y recipes you can make in your kitchen.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
