Description

A great classic italian meal made into an easy casserole!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce
  • ⅓ cups Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Basil, Chopped
  • 1 pinch Italian Blend Seasoning
  • 1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • Salt And Pepper
  • 1 pound Store Bought Tortellini, Whatever Flavor You Prefer
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • ¼ cups Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter

Preparation

In a medium bowl, combine marinara, cream cheese, basil, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Season boiling water with salt. Add tortellini and cook for 2 minutes; drain. Add tortellini to marinara mixture.

Pour into greased 8×8 baking dish. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Dot with butter. Bake uncovered 35 minutes.

Note: I like to put this casserole under the broiler for a minute or two just to get the casserole a little more brown on top.

This was delicious, easy too. I used more than a pinch of red pepper, but followed everything else as stated and we all loved it. Thank you so much for sharing

This was super yummy and easy to throw together. I used a can of Cabernet Marinara from Muir Glen Organics and tortellini from Trader Joe’s. I did not add the red pepper, or my kids would have had a cow. :-)
