Description

An old school Jello salad recipe my great-grandma passed down to me.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces, weight Package Of Lime Jello
  • 3 ounces, weight Package Of Lemon Jello
  • 1-½ cup Boiling Water
  • 8 ounces, weight Can Of Crushed Pineapple (Do Not Drain)
  • 1 cup Cottage Cheese
  • 14 ounces, weight Can Of Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 cup Chopped Roasted Pecans

Preparation

Dissolve Jello in boiling water. Add crushed pineapple (including liquid) and cool slightly. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well and chill until firm.

This is the one I’m always looking for. It seems to have all sorts of names…but I *know* what’s in it. I’m always on the hunt for it at family or church parties. YUM!

This is just like my grandmother would make! It’s also the same as the jello salad they serve at Luby’s (for those of you around TX). I wasn’t sure about the sweetened condensed milk since some of the recipes I’d seen for this salad called for sour cream, but it tastes just like my Nana’s did, so I think it’s just right!
