This salad is a simple and easy sliced salad that adds color to any table.
Peel the oranges and take as much of the white pith off as you can. Once the oranges are peeled, slice them in 1/2-inch circles and place aside.
Halve, pit, and peel the avocados. Slice the halves into medium-sized wedges. (You should get about 4-5 wedges per half.)
Place the butter lettuce leaves around the bottom of the platter and alternate the orange slices and avocado slices around in layers. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil.
You can layer thinly sliced red onion if you so choose between the oranges and avocado for a very pretty look as well.
