Description

I combined a few recipes I had seen for turkey burgers and arrived at this wicked good burger. I decided to put the blue cheese right into the mix and it came out fab!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 whole Egg White, Beaten
  • ½ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • ¼ cups Rolled Oats
  • ½ whole Onion, Minced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • ¼ cups Blue Cheese, Crumbled
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Preparation

Mix up all ingredients (everything except the olive oil) well with clean hands or a big spoon, making sure everything is incorporated.

Form into 4 patties and chill in the fridge for at least 20 minutes. The turkey meat is sticky and the patties hold their shape better when chilled I believe.

Fire the grill up to Medium. You will want to make sure the grill’s grate is greased with a little bit of olive oil to prevent sticking of the turkey burger. I just put the 2 tablespoons of olive oil on a paper towel and lightly wiped down the grill grate quickly. Be careful and be quick because, well…it’s HOT! It’s a grill after all!

Place the burgers on the greased grill and cook the burgers, flipping once, until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Serve on your favorite bun and most of all— ENJOY!
