Description

These taste just like those after-Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches. You can eat them hot or cold; I prefer mine cold.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE AIOLI:
  • ½ cups Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce
  • ½ cups Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • ½ teaspoons Orange Juice
  • _____
  • FOR THE BURGERS:
  • 2 slices White Bread, Crusts Removed
  • ½ cups Milk
  • 1 package (about 1.33-lb. Package) Ground Turkey
  • 1 teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
  • ½ teaspoons Sea Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Minced Onion
  • ½ teaspoons Dijon Mustard
  • 6 whole Whole Wheat Buns
  • 6 whole Romaine Lettuce Leaves

Preparation

For the aioli:
Mix cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, mustard, and orange juice in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate until needed.

For the burgers:
Soak bread in milk in a shallow dish. Place turkey in a large bowl and add soaked bread, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder, minced onion, and mustard. Mix well until all ingredients are combined. Shape into 6 patties. Cook in a skillet over medium high heat for 5 to 6 minutes on each side. Place cooked cheeseburgers into buns and spread top of buns with aioli and romaine lettuce.

I buy honeysuckle ground turkey and have been looking for a way to make a really good turkey burger. The sauce sounds divine! Thank you for sharing,

This is going to be so yummy for tonight’s dinner…I have some kaiser rolls I don’t want to go to waste…I don’t see cheese in the recipe, but you say “place cooked cheeseburgers into buns…”
I was thinking a sharp cheddar because I like the contrast w/the sweet/tangy cranberry flavor…what do you suggest for cheese?

I read your recipe and this actually sounds yummy. I really want to give this a try, I love cranberry sauce at thanksgiving, but dont laugh but I like the jellied kind versus berries, do you think switching this to jellied would still work for the aioli? I just happen to have about a dozen cans in my pantry that I have no idea what to use them for.

Enjoyed very much! Recommend using skillet over grill as meat is very moist.

Delicious! So simple to make and yummy to eat! My beef-eating father and my mom who always turned up her nose when I said “turkey burgers” both loved these!

This was so delicious!!! I never thought to add the milk-soaked bread to keep the burgers moist…that’s where I’ve been going wrong w/lean turkey meat. The spice measurements were right on & there was no lack of flavor whatsoever. The aioli was the perfect complement to the turkey…I did add a slice of sharp cheddar on my burger just because I’m a cheese fanatic, but I know it would’ve been just as yummy without it. Thanks for the great recipe…I will be making them again…my husband loved it & my 1 1/2 yr old loved the turkey burger chopped up.
