This family favorite recipe was always a specialty of my sister-in-law, Bobbie. I’m so fortunate to have gotten her recipe years ago before she passed away from breast cancer.
Boil your noodles according to the box instructions. When done drain them and set aside.
In a very large skillet or a stock pot over medium heat brown the ground beef, Salsiccia and garlic. Once the meat is browned, drain grease if necessary.
Add Ragu sauce and Italian seasoning to the browned meat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Grease a 9×13 glass dish and layer in 1/2 of your noodles. Tear up 3 pieces of American cheese and 3 pieces of mozzarella cheese, and place them on top of noodles (*placing the cheese on the noodles is a VERY important secret step).
Next pour 1/2 of your meat sauce over the cheese and noodles. Now add the other 1/2 of your noodles and top with the other 3 slices of American cheese and 3 slices of provolone cheese.
Pour other 1/2 of your sauce over the 2nd layer of cheese and noodles, then top with remaining mozzarella and provolone cheese.
Place in oven on 350 F for 45 minutes.
Enjoy!

This is such a tasty recipe and so easy! Next time I make it I’ll be adding in some whole wheat pasta to spice things up a bit. Thanks for the keeper!

We loved this recipe! Will definitely make it again. I had to substitute Mostaccioli noodles for Penne but still just as good. If you haven’t tried it yet – – do!
