This is a special recipe given to me as a wedding gift from a very dear friend. It is rich, aromatic and flavorful. It also makes a lot of sauce!
Grap a really big pot. Really big.
Melt the butter along with the olive oil, chopped garlic and chopped onion.
Add the ground beef and sausage. Cook until meat is no longer pink and is crumbly.
Add the spices.
Let simmer for about 20 minutes.
Add the tomato puree and two cans of water.
Add the tomato paste and one can of water.
Let cook on low for two hours or longer. The longer this cooks, the better!
