Description

I am having a love affair with my crock pot. I love to try out new recipes, but I wanted to do something special for Valentine’s Day. These steaks are amazing and simple. I think the best part about them was making a gravy out of the leftover broth from the crock pot. Mmm, lip-smacking delicious!

Ingredients

  • 4 whole Steaks (the Cheaper The Better, The Cut Doesn't Matter)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • ¼ cups Whiskey (I Used The Cheapest One Can Buy On A Newlywed Budget, But If You've Got Jack Give It A Try!)
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ cups Soy Sauce
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 3 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 1 whole Onion, Chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Crushed And Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter

Preparation

Sprinkle both sides of each steak with some salt and pepper and place them in the bottom of your crockpot. Add all the other ingredients, turn the crockpot on low and cook for 6-8 hours. If you’re like me, peel a couple of carrots, cut them up, and toss them in about an hour before dinner. I love me some meat-flavored carrots.

This sounds perfect for my meat-lovin’ man. Especially since it’s too cold to grill out right now. I’ll let you know how we like it once we try it. Thanks!

Very easy to prepare, and delicious! I’ve made this 3 times in the past 6 weeks. My family loves it.

I mix everything up (except the meat) in a tupperware container the night before, then just toss it all into the crock pot the next morning. Minimal prep time, excellent results.

We like our carrots pretty soft around here, so I add them from the beginning. Total cook time is about 9 hours for me. 2 hours before the end, I add coarsely chopped button mushrooms in. Then I make gravy with cornstarch from about 2 cups of the juices. It’s awesome over the meat and mashed potatoes!
