These sliders are savory, sweet and crunchy!
Place onions into a crockpot and top with whole chicken breast. Pour over apple juice and add butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. (Don’t worry about mixing these together; once the crock pot heats up, they will all mix together and flavor the chicken.)
Cook on low for 7 hours. Then remove the chicken from the crock pot, shred it and return to the crockpot for 1 more hour.
Heat oven to 400ºF.
Place slider bun bottoms on a baking sheet and top with some shredded chicken and onions. Then place an equal amount of cheese on each and bake in the oven for 3–5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling.
Thinly slice granny smith apple (you’ll need one slice for each slider). Top each slider with an apple piece and the top slider bun. Serve immediately.
