Description

For all the Chuck fans out there… Sizzling Shrimp! Spicy, with a hint of sweet and salty and a good dose of ginger. Absolutely delicious on rice. And so quick and easy.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 4 stalks Green Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1 pound Fresh Or Frozen Raw Shrimp, Peeled
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Ginger, Grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes

Preparation

Heat the butter and sesame oil in a frying pan on medium heat. Toss in the green onions for a few seconds to get a nice crispy look to it. Add shrimp and saute until pink and cooked through (it typically only takes 3 or 4 minutes to turn pink), adding ginger, garlic, salt, sugar and the pepper flakes (add less than 1/4 teaspoon of pepper flakes at first, especially if you don’t like spicy foods. I like it hot, so I add more.) Do this just at the end, maybe a minute before done cooking. Taste, adjusting seasoning to your preference. Don’t cook too long, you don’t want the shrimp to be tough and you want lots of the juices to put on your rice. It goes really quickly once you start cooking, so keep an eye on it!

Serve with white, brown or wild rice, great with all three!
