‘Tis the season for asparagus. Spring. Oh you know, that season between winter and summer … although we had a bit of summer when we had this pizza. This pizza is easy. It looks fancy; it’s not. The trick is shaving the asparagus. Chop the fancy top of the stalk into thin slices, then use a veggie peeler and make long strips of asparagus. Sure looks fancy, but it’s easy.
Heat oven to 450ºF. Place crust on a pizza stone or a pizza pan. Spread Alfredo sauce around the crust. Evenly spread half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Spread mushrooms and green onions.
Toss shaved asparagus with olive oil, salt and pepper. Place on top of the pizza. Use the remaining cheese on top of the pizza. Bake for 25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and brown. Slice and serve.
