Description

Kielbasa, onion, apples and potatoes in one pot. YUM.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (about 14 To 16 Oz.) Kielbasa, Smoked Sausage
  • 2 whole Gala Apples
  • 2 whole Yellow Onions
  • ½ pounds Yukon Gold Potatoes
  • Salt And Pepper
  • Olive Oil
  • 1 can (14.5 Oz.) Chicken Broth, Vegetable Broth, Bottle Of Beer, Hard Cider, Apple Juice Or Water Or Whatever You Have On Hand

Preparation

The object is to have about equal amounts and sizes of everything in the pan, so you kind of have to play it by ear depending on the size of the produce.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a sautee pan with a lid, heat a little bit of olive oil over medium heat.

Slice the kielbasa on an angle into about 1/2-inch pieces and throw it in the pan to brown. While it browns, chop the apples (do no peel) and onions (peel) into about 1-inch pieces. If necessary, cut potatoes so that they are the same size as the apple/onion pieces.

Flip the sausage and once the second side is browned, add the apple and onion. Toss all that around to get everything coated in the fat. It should smell delicious at this point. After a few minutes, throw in the potatoes, toss them around to get covered in the fat, and let them get a little color. Salt and pepper to taste, then add the liquid and bring to a boil. Slap a lid on it and throw the whole thing into the oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until the potatoes are done.

Serve with a green salad or green beans. Good with grainy mustard.

Serves 4.

Wow! This looks good! Can’t wait to give this a try. We love coming up with new ways to use kielbasa.
