Description

These ribs are sweet, tangy, and a bit smoky. They fall right off the bone and go very well with beans, cornbread, and coleslaw. A family favorite that requires lots of napkins and hearty appetites! Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds Country Style Pork Ribs
  • Salt And Pepper
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1-½ cup Ketchup
  • ½ cups Molasses
  • ½ cups Honey
  • ½ cups Onion, Small, Diced
  • 4 cloves Crushed Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Dry Mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Liquid Smoke

Preparation

Allow the ribs to sit out at room temperature for 1/2 hour. Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Once the oven is ready and the ribs have sat out, salt and pepper them on all sides to season as they bake. Place them in a large roasting pan, adding the water to keep them moist in the oven. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 2 hours.

While they are baking, mix the remaining ingredients in a small pot and cook for about 15 minutes being careful to prevent scorching. This will be your barbecue sauce.

Now, when the ribs are done, drain any liquid out of the pan and pour the sauce over them. Let them sit for a few while you heat your grill to about medium/ high heat. Now, put them on the grill and keep them there until the ribs are sizzling and the edges are crisping. Remember they are cooked—you just want to add some grilling flavor. Enjoy!

Delicious and oh so tender! I put them back in the oven under the broiler instead of the grill! My family loved them!
