Creamy and delicious, this sandwich spread is a snap to whip up!
Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Chop onion. I prefer finely chopped Vidalia sweet onions, but the chop and onion-type are up to your personal preference. =) Add onion to melted butter. Stir in mustard (this is the regular liquid table mustard, not powdered) and poppy seeds. Spread over deli meat and cheese of your choice on a roll and toast for 5 minutes in the oven, if you like. I recommend ham and provolone on an Amoroso club roll (a crisp, chewy, sandwich-sized roll native to Philly).
These are so delicious and easy, whether you’re making a quick lunch for yourself at home or hosting a casual get-together.
You can also use this spread for pretty much anything else, of course: on top of a ham and egg breakfast sandwich, on warm dinner rolls, cracker spread, etc.
