Description

A must for the summer. My friends get so excited when I turn on the grill, because they know that this sweet, sticky BBQ chicken is perfect when the sun is out!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE MARINADE:
  • 1 cup White Vinegar
  • ½ cups Lemon Juice
  • 5 Tablespoons Ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons Mustard (Dijon Or Spicy)
  • 3-½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • _____
  • FOR THE CHICKEN:
  • 8 pieces Chicken Breasts (you Can Use A Combination Of Legs And Thighs Too If You Prefer Dark Meat)
  • 9 Tablespoons Butter
  • 6 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Mustard (Dijon Or Spicy)
  • 3-½ teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1-½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Black Pepper

Preparation

In a large bowl, mix the marinade ingredients.

In a large ziploc bag, add chicken and pour in marinade. Seal and refrigerate for 1 hour minimum.

Heat your grill to medium.

For the sauce, combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until butter is melted and ingredients are blended.

Add chicken to the grill, discarding marinade. Brush with the sauce. Cook for 7-8 minutes and turn, brushing again with sauce. Repeat every 5-7 minutes until chicken is cooked through. Make sure that sauce is slathered—it truly makes the dish!

This works great for a big party. Just get big batches of legs, breasts and thighs, make 2 batches of marinade and sauce and serve up to a hungry crowd!

Best bbq chicken ever! Used boneless skinless breasts and they were so moist with a nice char on the outside.

This marinade has even been used on pork tenderloins courtesy of psumeb83! My boyfriend loves it even after learning that I used mustard! (Yellow mustard has never caught his fancies) Even with the tenderloin, the meat was juicy and delicious. Thank you for sharin psumeb83!

Delicious! Great crisp on the outside and moist flavorful chicken on the inside. Reserved a bit of the sauce for dipping per other reviews. Did 5 legs over charcoal – 30 minutes indirect heat and about 10 minutes direct for crispiness. I also mixed mustard types to use up what I had on hand – dijon, honey mustard and whole grain dijon. This is a new favorite in our house and will be a go-to for cookouts!

This was fantastic! We LOVED the chicken. Used boneless skinless breasts and we both agreed it was the best chicken we’ve ever had. Already making plans for a dinner party to serve this to our friends. Delicious, huge hit. Thank you!
