Mom was made an honorary Italian for her version of meat sauce.
Brown the ground beef (if using) with onions and green pepper. Drain the grease away, and put the mixture in a large pot.
Add the tomato sauce, puree, and paste. Add one large can and one small can of water.
Stir in Italian seasoning, garlic, black pepper, wine, and Italian sausage links (if using).
Bring to a boil, and then lower heat and simmer for a few hours.
Put over your favorite shape of pasta, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired, and enjoy!
