Description

This recipe was developed after a friend refused to give away his amazing BBQ rib recipe. My husband and I played around for a few years, and though it is nothing like our friend’s, we love it more and more every time we make it.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Seasoning Salt
  • 2 teaspoons White Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 pounds Baby Back Pork Ribs
  • 32 ounces, fluid Apple Juice
  • 1 bottle Bull's Eye BBQ Sauce, 28 Ounce Bottle, You May Not Use All Of It

Preparation

Mix together the seasonings in a small bowl.

Place ribs in two shallow baking dishes, 9 X 13″ sized Pyrex dishes. You may need to cut the racks in half to make them fit. Rub the seasoning on both sides of the racks. Pour apple juice over the ribs (use half for each dish). Wrap the dishes with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 F. Remove ribs from refrigerator and replace plastic wrap with foil. Cook ribs in oven for 2-3 hours until meat is just about to pull away from the bone. This is the tricky part. You don’t want it actually falling off, but you want it as tender as possible.

Heat up either your outdoor grill (over medium high heat) or your oven’s broiler. Put some BBQ sauce in a bowl. Baste ribs with BBQ sauce and place them on the grill or under broiler for 1-2 minutes. Baste with more sauce and return to heat for another minute. Flip ribs and repeat the baste, grill/broil, baste, grill/broil steps for the second side. Remove ribs from the heat to a large cutting board or platter.

Slice between the ribs bones and serve immediately.
