Description

Heading to a potluck over the weekend? Why not bring this succulent, tender, bursting with flavor from ginger, garlic and the aromatic spices, Instant Pot Goat Curry! You and your dish will the star of the night!

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 4 whole Black Cardomoms
  • 4 whole Green Cardomoms
  • 4 whole Cloves
  • 1 whole Bay Leaf
  • 1 stick Cinnamom
  • 5 whole Peppercorns
  • 1  Yellow Or Red Onion Finely Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Freshly Grated Ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon Freshly Grated Garlic
  • 2  Green Chillies Finely Chopped
  • 2 pounds Goat Meat Cut In Small Pieces
  • ¼ cups Tomato Paste
  • 1-½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Garam Masala, Divided
  • ¼ cups Plain Greek Yogurt
  • ½ cups Cilantro, Plus More For Garnish

Preparation

Turn Instant Pot to Saute mode and add cumin seeds, black cardamoms, green cardamoms, cloves, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, and peppercorns. Cook for 2–3 minutes. Add onions and cook onions until light golden brown. Add ginger and garlic and green chilis. Cook for 1 minute.

Add goat meat and mix for 1 minute. Add coriander powder, cumin powder, and 1 teaspoon garam masala. Brown goat meat for 5–7 minutes.

Add tomato paste and cook for another 5 minutes. Add yogurt and cook until you start seeing oil on the edges of the pot. Add cilantro and turn off Saute mode. Cook on Meat mode for 25 minutes and let pressure release naturally.

When safe to open the lid, mix well and add remaining garam masala and cilantro. Enjoy with masala rice and tandoori roti!
