Description

These garden turkey burgers have a crunch from the onion, lovely garlic flavor and fresh parsley.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BURGERS:
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • ½  Yellow Onion, Finely Chopped
  • ½ cups Fresh Parsley, Chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon A1 Steak Sauce
  • 6 slices Sliced Cheese (optional)
  • 6  Hamburger Buns Or Flat Breads
  • FOR THE CARAMELIZED ONIONS:
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ½  Yellow Onion, Sliced
  • Salt And Pepper

Preparation

1. In a large bowl using your (clean) hands or a wooden spoon, mix together the ground turkey, finely chopped onion, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper and A1 sauce.

2. Divide the mixture into 6 even-sized amounts and form each into a round patty. Put the patties on a plate, layering each between a piece of wax paper. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

3. Meanwhile, prepare the caramelized onions. Drizzle the olive oil in a large pan and heat to medium. Once hot, add the sliced onions and toss until evenly coated with the olive oil.

4. Sprinkle the onions with salt and pepper, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring every so often, until the onions are golden brown (about 6-10 minutes). Set the caramelized onions aside.

5. Heat a grill pan over medium high heat. Add your chilled turkey burgers and cook until cooked throughout (about 5 minutes on each side to get those nice grill lines).

6. If you’re making a cheeseburger, add your cheese to the top of the burger towards the end of cook time and remove burgers from the heat once cheese is melted.

7. Arrange your turkey burger on a bun, topped with the caramelized onions and your favorite condiments.
