Easy-to-make fresh tomato sauce is perfect for a quick meal.
Bring a large pot of water to boil over high heat.
Meanwhile, chop the tomatoes. Cut the tomatoes into quarters. Placing the tomato on an angle, slice off the middle. Remove any seeds and their juice. Dice the tomato flesh.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once oil is hot, add garlic, swirling to coat. Cook for 1 minute until garlic is fragrant.
Add diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, sugar and salt and pepper. Stir to combine everything. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15–20 minutes until most of the liquid is cooked off.
Once the pasta water is boiling, add pasta. Cook according to the package directions.
Serve sauce over pasta. Enjoy!
