Description

Recipe #2 from Grandma’s Evie’s recipe box. I made this at my parent’s restaurant and when I opened the lid, the smell of Grandma and Grandpa’s house rolled out. Mom and Dad recall Grandma Evie making this hotdish often. Perhaps that is why their house smelled so similar!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Hamburger Meat (ground Beef)
  • 1 can (27 Oz. Size) Sauerkraut
  • 2 cans (10.75 Oz. Size) Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • 2 cups Uncooked Egg Noodles

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

In a medium or large sized skillet, brown the hamburger over medium heat until done. Once the meat is browned, add sauerkraut (do not drain), cream of chicken soup (just the soup – no water is needed), and uncooked egg noodles. Mix together. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.

Shari,

I did not add the water the soup can calls for. Since the sauerkraut is undrained, it has enough liquid for the soup and to cook the noodles. Enjoy!

Do you add the water the soup can calls for? Also, do you leave the sauerkraut undrained?
