Description

This family-friendly quick and easy ground turkey meatloaf is seasoned with onion, garlic and oregano and topped with a quick three-ingredient sweet glaze. This delicious alternative to beef and pork is just as tender and juicy with a lot less calories and fat.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Turkey
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1  Medium Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Dried Oregano
  • ½ teaspoons Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Fresh Breadcrumbs
  • 2  Large Eggs
  • 1-¼ cup Kansas City Style Barbecue Sauce, Divided
  • ⅓ cups Ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray large casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, minced garlic, chopped onion, dried oregano, freshly ground black pepper, bread crumbs, eggs and 3/4 cup barbecue sauce. Using clean hands or a strong spoon, mix until well-combined. In a large baking dish, shape into a wide loaf as you don’t want it too thick.

In a small bowl, mix remaining barbecue sauce, ketchup and Worcestershire Sauce. Spread 1/3 of the glaze over the meatloaf and place in the oven. Be sure to wash the spoon afterwards since it touched raw meat.

Bake for 40 minutes and then spread another 1/3 of the sauce over the meatloaf. Bake another 20–30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160ºF. Spread the rest of the sauce over the meatloaf and cover loosely with an aluminum foil tent. Let rest for 10 minutes.
