Description

These pot stickers are so delicious and easy to make. Only 6 ingredients! My friends all love them! However, I do not have a dipping sauce to go with them. I use regular soy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces, weight Chicken Breasts, Left Over, Or Canned, Or Chicken Breasts
  • 3 sprigs Green Onions, Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Reduced Salt Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 package Pot Stickers Wrapper OR Wonton Wrappers
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil, For Cooking

Preparation

First, cook your chicken if you didn’t have any already cooked on hand. I have made this using left over chicken, canned chicken, or uncooked chicken. If you have to cook the chicken, boil the chicken breast in water for about 15 mins. (I have cooked it in the microwave, in water, once, and it worked just fine)

In a bowl, mix the chopped chicken, green onions, soy sauce, sugar and sesame oil. Mix well.

Have a little bowl of water near you. Use your finger to wet slightly the surface of your pot sticker wrapper. Put about a teaspoon of the chicken mixture in the middle. Seal firmly and set on a plate until you are done filling all the pot stickers. In the end, you should have about 12 stickers.

To cook, it’s best to use a non stick pan that has a lid for it. If you don’t, I am sure you have a pot lid that can work ;)

Have about 1/2 cup water ready to use.

Heat up your pan to medium high for about 3 mins, without the oil in it. Add your oil.

Right away, put the stickers in. Brown them, uncovered, until golden brown. This is very quick. Turn them around.

Right away, pour your water in, and cover. This will finish the cooking process by steaming the pot stickers. It only takes about a min.

Remove from heat and enjoy.

I have made this using a regular pan (not non stick) and it works too, but you need more oil to avoid the stickers from sticking; if you have non stick, definitely use it)

**Do NOT use regular soy sauce for the filling. I did once because I was out of the reduced salt, and it was way too salty!

I love, love, love potstickers! I usually make mine with pork and shrimp, so I’m anxious to try this! I do make a dipping sauce from soy sauce, lime juice, grated ginger, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar and a splash of sesame oil. It’s a great complement!

I have made these twice now, and they’re a big hit and super easy. I added red pepper flakes the second time for a little more kick. I’m still having trouble figuring out how long to fry them and then steam them. The texture isn’t quite right yet.
