Description

The absolute best way to cook dried beans, if I do say so myself (and I do say so).

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces, weight Dried Black Beans
  • 3 cups Water
  • 6 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 whole Small Onion, Minced
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • Salsa, Shredded Cheese, Or Green Onions As Toppings

Preparation

1. Pick out any bad beans or rocks. Put them into a colander and wash the dry beans. Place them into a pot and cover with at least 2 inches of water. Let them soak 8 hours or overnight.

2. Drain water and place the drained beans in a crockpot. Add the remaining ingredients.

3. Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
