Description

I made these on a 95-degree day and my kitchen stayed nice and cool! Thanks to the wonder that is the CROCK POT!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Chicken
  • ⅓ cups Butter
  • ⅓ cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • ¼ cups Chopped Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Paprika
  • ¼ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • Salt And Pepper

Preparation

Clean your chicken and boil in a pot of water until cooked. Meanwhile, you’re going to make your BBQ sauce. In a saucepan combine the remaining ingredients. Heat on medium until bubbly. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat.

Once chicken is cooked, take off the skin and remove the meat from the bones. Place chicken in your crock pot on low heat. Pour BBQ sauce on top of the chicken. Cook for 4 to 5 hours on low. Every now and then stir the chicken and the sauce.

Once done, you can either keep the chicken in big pieces or shred it (pulled chicken). Place on kaiser rolls and serve with a pickle!

Has anyone used a package of 4-6 chicken breasts instead? I’m assuming this would be almost as good….

I have had this recipe saved in my recipe box almost since I first found tasty kitchen! It is so easy and so delicious! My husband absolutely loves it and it can work for dinner or lunch! I’ve made it at least two or three time already. Thanks for the recipe!

I’m giving this recipe 5 stars because it really is a great idea! I used a shredded rotisserie chicken. The BBQ sauce recipe isn’t my favorite, but you could use whatever sauce you wanted.

I thought this was fine, but not amazing. Four stars, likely. But my 4 and 6 year olds asked for thirds. So, five stars it is.

This was yummy, I doubled the sauce and topped with Frenchs French Fried Onions. Served on Mini slider buns.

Great recipe! I used leftovers to make Ree’s “CPK’s BBQ Chicken Pizza” and it worked great. Very good chicken.

I tried these a couple months ago and they were delish! Now I’m back for the recipe so I can make them again for my little boy’s b-day party this weekend.

I think this chicken would also be perfect to use for a bbq chicken pizza. Yum!
