Description

Crispy quinoa burgers made with red quinoa and cannellini beans.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Canned Or Cooked Cannellini Beans, Mashed
  • 2 cups Cooked Red Quinoa
  • ½ cups Bread Crumbs (more As Necessary)
  • 1 whole Egg, Lightly Beaten
  • 1 clove Garlic, Grated
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 5 slices Preferred Type Of Cheese, Optional
  • 5  Sandwich Or Burger Buns Of Choice

Preparation

1. In a large bowl, mash the cannellini beans with a fork. Add the cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix well to combine the ingredients.

2. Wet your hands and form the mixture into 4 or 5 equal-sized burger patties.

3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Place the quinoa burgers in the skillet and cook over medium-high heat until golden and crisp, about five minutes per side. In the last couple minutes of cooking add a slice of cheese if desired. Cover the pan and cook an extra 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted (any kind you prefer, optional). The burgers should hold up well and be easy to flip.

4. Put the burger on your favorite bread, top with your favorite condiments and enjoy!
