Description

Cauliflower and cheddar are a great combo! Especially when you add peas and ham.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Chopped Broccoli Or Cauliflower Florets
  • 1 cup Chopped Onions
  • 1 teaspoon Minced Garlic
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 cups Milk
  • ½ teaspoons Basil
  • ½ teaspoons Dry Mustard
  • ½ teaspoons Italian Seasoning
  • ⅛ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • ¾ cups Shredded Cheese
  • 1 cup Cubed Ham
  • 1 cup Peas
  • Your Favorite Pasta

Preparation

Combine the broccoli or cauliflower, onions and garlic in a 4-cup glass measuring cup. Cover with wax paper or plastic wrap and microwave on high for 6-7 minutes, or until tender. Set aside.

In a saucepan, mix the cornstarch and 1/4 cup of the milk until smooth. Stir in the spices and remaining milk.

Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring, for 2 to 3 minutes or until sauce thickens. Add the cheese and stir until the cheese melts.

Add the ham, peas and cauliflower mixture.

While the sauce is cooking, cook the pasta until just tender. Drain. Drizzle with a small amount of olive oil.

Loved this! Quick and easy, and seasonings were simple, yet delicious. A nice way to use up leftover ham. Will make this again … thanks for sharing!
