Description

This is the best way to make pork roast.

Ingredients

  • 2-½ pounds Boneless Rolled Pork Loin Roast
  • 1 can Whole Cranberry Sauce (16 Oz)
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Orange Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cloves
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons Cold Water
  • 1 dash Salt, Or To Taste

Preparation

1. Place pork roast in a slow cooker. In a medium bowl, mash cranberry sauce, stir in sugar, orange juice, mustard and cloves. Pour over roast. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender.

2. Remove roast when warm. Skim fat from juices, then measure 2 cups of liquid. Add water if necessary, and pour into a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

3. Combine the cornstarch and cold water to make a paste and stir into gravy. Cook and stir until thickened. Season with salt. Serve with sliced pork.

This is so good! I didn’t make the sauce into a gravy, we just loved the roast and had it the next day for sandwiches. Thanks for sharing!!!

The meat is delicious. I will definitely make this again, and my friend’s husband who ate with us asked me to give his wife the recipe. The gravy wasn’t our favorite. It came out (obviously) somewhat fruit flavored but not really in a pleasant way and no one ate it. But again, delicious roast that will go in my regular rotation.

Absolutely delicious!! Definately a family favorite from now on!! MUST make the gravy… that is the best part and I almost didn’t go to the trouble… SOOOO glad I did.

This is easy, delicious and elegant enough for company!

My husband loves cranberries so I thought that he would like this. He loved it! I pretty much made the recipe as written except I substituted homemade cranberry sauce for the canned sauce. We’ve been making this cranberry sauce for years and I knew it would be prefect for this recipe—from epicurious.com. When I made the sauce, I used all the liquid from the roast, which was more than 2 cups, and reduced it to the amount used in the recipe. It was awesome! This recipe was a huge hit and I’ll definitely be making it again. It was very easy to make and my family loved it. Thanks for writing such a great slow cooker recipe.

My store didn’t have a rolled roast so I used some other kind of pork loin roast. It was a tiny bit tough; I don’t know if a rolled roast would have worked better. But it was delicious. I used orange juice instead of water to make the gravy and it added a little extra zing.
Oh, and the leftovers sat in gravy overnight and were much more tender. I just had them for lunch… yum!!!
