Description

These Chipotle Pale Ale Sloppy Joe’s are extra messy, extra tasty, and pack a bold punch of spicy flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 pound Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Chopped Onion
  • 1 cup Chopped Green Pepper
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • ½ teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes
  • ¼ cups Pale Ale (favorite Brew)
  • ½ cups Ketchup
  • ¼ cups Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • 1  Chipotle Pepper In Adobo, Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cumin
  • ¼ teaspoons Smoked Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 8  Potato Rolls For Serving

Preparation

Heat olive oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef to pan and cook until no longer pink, about 10 minutes. As beef browns, use a wooden spoon or spatula to break up ground beef. Drain off any excess fat.

Add onion, green pepper, garlic, and red pepper flakes to pan with beef. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for an additional 5 minutes, or until veggies are tender.

Add pale ale to pan and allow to reduce slightly, about 2 minutes. Turn heat down to low and stir in remaining ingredients (except potato rolls). Cover and allow mixture to simmer for about 1 hour, stirring every 10–15 minutes to prevent mixture from burning. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve on potato rolls.
