Description

Another family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 5 whole Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast Halves (cooked)
  • 1 whole Jar Of Spaghetti Sauce (28 - 32 Ounce Jar)
  • 6 whole 6" Hoagie Buns, Or 1 Large, Wide Loaf Of French Bread
  • ¼ cups Butter
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • ¼ cups (or More) Parmesan Cheese

Preparation

Notes:
– You can prepare the chicken breasts however you like – baked, sauteed, rotisserie, etc. Leftover is perfect!
– You can use store bought spaghetti sauce if you are short on time. Or check out my recipe also on TastyKitchen “The Best Meatless Spaghetti Sauce”.

Chop cooked chicken breasts into small 1/2-inch pieces. Heat spaghetti sauce in saucepan and add chicken pieces. Cook until chicken is heated through.

Slice hoagie buns or wide French bread in half. Press garlic clove through a garlic press or chop finely and add it to the butter. Mix until well incorporated. Spread garlic butter over bread. You may need to use more butter if you prefer.

Preheat broiler. Place bread on a pan, cut side up, under broiler. Watch carefully and broil until golden and crunchy.

Distribute the chicken mixture over bread. Top generously with cheeses. Return to oven and broil until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 3 minutes.

Remove from oven and let set a few minutes. If you used French bread, slice into whatever size of serving you prefer. And chow down!

I love this. It was simple and really flavorful, not to mention no silverware needed (although napkins were).

If you’re more in the mood for bread than pasta this perfect.

My husband made these this past weekend and they were really great!!! We used too soft of bread we should have got crusty french instead of wheat, but it was still really good!!!! Great recipe and it re-heats really well!!!!
