Description

A simple Cheeseburger Frittata for a quick, low-carb cheeseburger meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • ¼ teaspoons Plus Two Dashes Of Salt, Divided
  • ¼ teaspoons Plus Two Dashes Of Pepper, Divided
  • ¼ teaspoons Plus Two Dashes Of Garlic Powder, Divided
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 whole Medium-large Onion, Chopped
  • 10 whole Large Eggs
  • 3 Tablespoons Milk
  • 4 ounces, weight Cheddar Cheese, Shredded, Divided
  • Optional Additions: Bacon, Sautéed Mushroom, Sliced/diced Tomatoes

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 F.

I used a 10″ pie pan for this recipe, but a 9″ deep dish should work as well. Grease it with some butter or spray it with cooking spray.

Brown the beef in a skillet over medium heat with a dash of salt, pepper and garlic powder.

In another skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onion with a dash of salt and pepper. Saute until onions are translucent.

Beat together eggs, milk, 1/2 of the shredded cheddar cheese and 1/4 teaspoon of salt pepper and garlic powder.

Evenly distribute the browned hamburger on the bottom of the pie pan then top it with the sautéed onions.

Pour the egg mixture over the top of the hamburger and onion. Top that with the remaining cheese.

Bake at 400 F for 15-20 minutes until set. (I used a 10″ pie pan, so adjust cooking time accordingly for a different size of pan.)

This was fantastic. It definitely had to bake for closer to 40 minutes though. I used turkey sausage and was worried that it wouldn’t be flavorful enough, but it was great. Served with Cholula sauce (chipolte)and it was amazing. Will definitely be making this one again.

Simple and delicious and the whole family ate it up! I added a little ketchup and mustard to the meat mixture. Then once it was baked served it with sprinkled bacon and chopped pickles. It was fantastic. We used 10 eggs and had to bake it closer to 35 minutes than 20. Will definitely make again and experiment with other combinations.

This was a little plain for me; I ended up dipping in ketchup for more flavor. The general recipe is good, think I’ll make again sometime trying only 6 eggs as suggested above and use some extra spices and/or veggies.

This is quite good! I did cook it alot longer also, probably more like 30-35 min. I did not think it was dried out at all. Very nice for a quick meal, especially if you have left over hamburger to use up!

I ended-up having to cook this for over 40 minutes! I have no idea what I did wrong… it was pretty dried-out, too, because of it. I’ll have to work on this recipe a bit to get it to turn out better.

On a better note – my family loved it! ;)
